Time in Church Hill

Great shot from the hill overlooking Richmond in Church Hill.
From Kory M.

After heading to church this morning, I went out to Church Hill this afternoon to hook up with Mike who’s interested in getting something going for RFW in that area.  Walked around the area and marveled, once again, at the old WRVA tower situated at the top of this hill (grabbed a pic for the new RVAMoBlog site while I was there; in fact, I’ve set up a tag for Church Hill on that site I hope others will add to).

I love the architecture in Church Hill.  Richmond Hill is really cool.  Not sure if it’s a monastery or what (oh, wait, here it is.) Just has a sense of serenity that I could just take in forever.

Then had the pleasure of walking around St. John’s Church (yep, grabbed another pic here).  Could almost feel the history coursing through my veins.

Then I hooked up with Mike at Cap’t Buzzy’s off of E. Broad St, an inviting, highly recommended shop which had big couches, deep chairs and friendly dogs with big grins (seriously, they really grinned!).   Mike bought me a cup of Joe and we talked “shop” for about an hour and a half.  I determined he’s as passionate about Richmond projects and seeing the city prosper and grow as much as I am.  Great time!

Finally, I headed back home to watch Sha play Godfather on the PS2.  Now, we’re getting ready to head to my boss’ home near Stony Point for some burgers and good times.   It’ll be a nice way to end the Sunday.
