Sure is quiet…
I have the duty at the front desk tonight. That means, I have to answer the phone (if it ever rings) and make sure none of the buildings on campus burn down. Fortunately, we have security that makes rounds to ensure the latter for sure. So I really only have to worry about the former. And that even isn’t a big deal as I think the phone might ring once every…three hours? And since I “only” have to sit here for…three hours, I may just miss the one phone call I might actually get. If I get one.
Fortunately, I was able to get out of the apartment and off campus a bit, much like what was suggested to me and many other Richmonders. I did this, of course. I really enjoyed it at Mr. Adams’ shop. Very “manly” and full of stuff a lot of guys like to be surrounded by. My Cabela’s hat fit right in with the deer and bear heads on the wall. (Yep, that’s the store up in PA that’s about 20 minutes from my parents’ farm. My stepmom calls it the “mothership” because it’s on a hill and my dad’s and my eyes always light up whenever we see it.)
Speaking of Cabela’s, I’m planning a hiking outage the weekend of October 13th, perhaps, since I have the bug and all. Getting to be really nice out there for hiking with the temperature and with the upcoming color changes on the trees.
Sha and I are planning on visiting a few gyms tomorrow to sign up since the school gym isn’t cutting it for us. Looking forward to getting back into that again. I feel like Garfield the cat.
Hopefully tomorrow will be as nice as today was. Even though I’m on duty tomorrow, I don’t have to sit at the phone desk and can go off campus. Just have to be available by cell. So we’ll head out to church then to Church Hill to Captain Buzzy’s coffeeshop (I’ve been wanting to try some of their bulk coffee ever since a colleague of mine took me there a couple of months ago).
