Something witty, something witty (nah, gym stuff)…
Nah, I’ve got nothing. :) However, Sha and I decided to join a gym again. Unfortunately, the school’s gym just isn’t cutting it for me (no plate weights, no Hammer gear, no spin classes, etc.) and, poor Sha, can’t even go with her varied schedule. There’s no place to drop Kaleb off, i.e. no child care (Taylor’s in school during that time so she’s covered) and it’s really not a good idea to have a rambunctious three year old boy running around a bunch of weight equipment. So, as much as we’re thankful for having a gym on campus, it’s time for us to buckle down and get serious again.
That being said, this Saturday, we’re planning on checking out American Family Fitness near the Arboretum and Gold’s Gym at Willow Lawn. We thought about checking out the Tuckahoe YMCA but have heard horror stories about deep lines for equipment and generally the overall crowding there.
Yes, it’ll mean a bit more outlay of monthly expenses, but I have to admit: running ain’t cutting it for me and I miss the camaraderie of working out with others around me, not to mention the spin classes which allowed me to lose about three to four pounds a week. Another not to mention is that I’m looking forward to getting back into a good mood and miss the rush of endorphins that helped with that. So, all in all, we’re looking forward to getting serious again! ![]()
