So I’m going to DC this weekend…

January 16th, 2008

…and am wondering what to do. I’ll be leaving mid Friday morning via train to Union Station. I got my hotel room (pic below of the skyline where it is) and am planning a visit to the Holocaust Museum on Saturday.

I’m also planning on visiting Kramer’s Bookstore near DuPont Circle sometime as well. Other than that, it’s pretty much an open slate. Been a while since I’ve been to the Air & Space Museum and the Library of Congress. Maybe I’ll see if I can fit them in too. I’ve always enjoyed the ASM and, being a bit of a library buff (still do work on the Lower Macungie Library’s website in Pennsylvania), a visit to the LOC would be ideal.

Since I’ll be heading up there by myself (although I’m hoping a friend of mine will join me at some point), the itinerary is pretty much an open slate.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to eat near the hotel, drop me a comment! I’m not much of a night owl (beyond the “clubbing thing” I’m afraid) but I’m all ears for other ideas!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to a little break. :)

    My latest post is a play by play of this past weekend in DC, with loads of links to the restaurants, etc. We also went to Kramers. If you’re there on Sunday, hit Dupont Circle that morning (before 1pm) and you’ll see an awesome farmer’s market.

    I’ll definitely be sure to check out your blog, Foodie. Sounds like hitting Kramer’s on Sunday would work nicely with hitting the farmer’s market.

    I’m very much into the museum scene so I’ll be sure to check out the Hirshhorn while there, Paul. Haven’t been to that one.
