Power of Twitter & CNN

I’m in the midst of watching the presidential debate on CNN which was set up in town hall-format, something I’m finding uniquely profound in that it’s giving the American people a huge opportunity to interactive directly with the candidates both from the local audience and across the Internet.  At the same time, I’m also tracking #current and #debate08 on Twitter (feel free to request to follow me) using the TweetDeck client, as portrayed below:

TweetDeck updates everytime the two channels mentioned above change, meaning I’m being inundated with information from both CNN and the Twitter community.  Granted, many of the Tweets coming across the channels are matters of opinion, of course, however, there have also been a number of intelligent and thought provoking responses as well.

I have to say this is arguably the most exciting debate in recent years thanks to technology which has allowed the American people to truly get to know the candidates and their respective parties.

Definitely going to be a very interesting outcome come next month.
