Our First iMovie
We were messing around with the MacBook tonight and discovered iMovie HD. My MacBook has a built-in iSight camera and I was trying to figure out a way to get the kids involved in technology, especially since they’re getting to the age of utilizing technology in the classroom. Since St. Catherine’s is a fairly heavy Mac shop (they have close to 30 Macs in their classroom labs alone), I felt getting experience on a Mac, especially for making movies and performing other creative procedures, would be ideal. I hope to have all of our older kids, i.e. Matt, Mackenzie and Lee, work with iMovie in the future. This particular clip includes a couple of the standard sound effects and we showed the kids how to lower the video sound itself so that the sound effects could be heard.
The movie below is in Quicktime format and is about 1.5Mb in size. Not terribly bad but it gives everyone an idea of how creative kids can be!
