Mohr or Less

I actually had a pretty good today, notwithstanding the “gloom and doom” I seem to be posting to the blog lately. I’m definitely trying to get out of that rut and start having fun with life again! For example, I’m currently sitting here, waiting to take dinner out of the oven (can’t take credit for it; Sha started it!) while Kaleb and Taylor run around the living room. It’s an absolutely gorgeous evening (I know, I know; why are we not outside enjoying it? Patience, young grasshopper! I need a few minutes to rest up as I’ve been on the go all day!) and I’m waiting to run down to the washer to throw the towels in the dryer then take the kids outside so they can burn off some energy. But enough about that.

Today was a pretty good day. Very productive. One of our teachers reminded me about Nick Burns, a Jimmy Fallon skit from SNL, as I’ve been running around, lately, like a chicken with my head cut off. Fortunately, I’ve gotten a lot of compliments about my work such as “we’re so thankful to have someone who doesn’t talk to me like I’m stupid” to “thank you for keeping on top of things. That doesn’t usually happen around here.” All I could think of was…wow. Of course, considering what I came into, based on one of my last posts, I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.

But, I feel like I got a lot done today. My “carryover” list continues to grow but I realize there’s only so many hours in the day and no one’s going to die if I can’t fix someone’s computer to print to the printer right next to them other than the one two doors down this instant.

Good thing I don’t work in a hospital. But then, I guess hospitals probably have competent IT staffs (I know, I know; let the flames begin!)
