“I Just Feel Like Running” - Week #2
Today marks the beginning of my second week of running, using Robert Ullrey’s awesome “Couch to 5K” podcast series. If you’re considering starting a running program, I highly recommend this podcast. Doesn’t cost a dime and really helps out. The music is upbeat (as it should be, of course) and Robert does an excellent job keeping you on pace.
I’m already up to two miles, running from the school’s front door and back, according to this excellent site: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1184798 . Sha’s also walking three times a week AND pushing a double stroller at the same time! Her route is a bit farther than mine and is located here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1184805
I’m experiencing a bit of soreness with my ankles but I think it’s simply because I’m still getting used to it. I’ve never run before (consistently anyway) but I’m finding that the endorphins are starting to kick in sooner than later (thank goodness!). I’m hoping that as I run a bit more, my ankles will become less sore and I’ll be able to go further distances.
In addition to running, I’ve gotten back to consistent workouts after work at the on-campus gym. I’m using my old routine which alternates two body parts a day, four days a week, averaging about four to six exercises per day. I’ve had to lighten up on the weights a bit to make up for the loss I occurred from our move but I’m happy to finally be getting back into it.
So, all in all, we’re starting to feel really good about ourselves again. We’re looking great and are able to keep up with all the kids!
Isn’t that’s what life’s all about? ![]()
