Good Weekend…

Howdy all.  Been a pretty good weekend.  Hope it’s been good for y’all too.  :)

Let’s see, yesterday, the kids went to the sitter’s while Sha worked then she picked them up and had them until around 6:30.  That gave me a lot of time to get a bunch of stuff done I haven’t been able to do with them around.  So, I did the following:

  • Got my haircut at Adams’ Barber Shop which I highly recommend!  Mr. Adams is a very friendly guy and cuts hair exactly the way you want it.
  • Checked out the Fresh Market off Parham.  I didn’t realize this is the same market that’s also in Williamsburg.  Very cool place with lots of specialized, hard-to-find food stuff.  I didn’t purchase anything since I didn’t need anything specific but at least wanted to see it as it’s been recommended to me.
  • Went food shopping at Walmart off Parham.  I usually do my shopping there.  Yeah, Walmart takes a lot of flak but it’s cheapest around, I think, and that particular store is the best around, again, I think.
  • Washed the car at Flagstop off Staples Mill.  Sure, I could go to Carpool but I really like Flagstop as it’s reasonable for a full wash, including tireshine, and they’re vacuums and floor mat cleaner are free.  :)
  • Cleaned the entire apartment and did all the laundry.  That took a couple of hours but obviously worth it!
  • Finally, I went for a three mile run down at the Canal Walk.  Been a while since I’ve ran outside and thought I’d break myself in slowly (”break” being the emphasis!).  I haven’t run on pavement in a while and now my left knee’s feeling it a bit.  But very much worth it!

Since I did all that stuff yesterday, I figured I could take Sunday and relax a bit.  Fortunately, it worked out that way!  I took the kids to church first thing where the band performed awesome renditions of Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life” and a song by Kelly Clarkson I can’t remember the name of, but it sounded good!

After church, we went to Kroger’s at Willow Lawn to pick up some minor stuff I needed.  Then I took the kids to the Libbie/Patterson community center playground where they played for about an hour.  Here’s a video and a few pics, #1 and #2.

Then, home for lunch and naptime for the kids.  Surprisingly even Taylor slept a bit and she NEVER sleeps at naptime anymore.  :)  I organized my iTunes a bit and made a journal entry on my last.fm profile page.  I also downloaded an album by Delerium from Amazon as well as “Trouble” by Lindsey Buckingham

Kids are up now, of course, and we’re watching some Little Einsteins (well, they are!). They’re not in the best of moods (I think they could use more sleep) so, I think, they’re going to have an early dinner and some early shuteye.  They had a very busy weekend!

All in all, been a very good weekend!  Anyway, thx for reading.  Y’all have a good one!
