Mohr or Less

Howdy all. Been ages…AGES…since I posted on the blog. The daily Twitter updates just aren’t cutting it, I know.

Something I’ve been dealing with lately is friendships. Funny, however, that most of my dealings have been “virtually” i.e. via SecondLife and Twitter. One thing I realize (and that I need to remember to realize) is that there’s just no way one can please everybody. There’s just no way everyone’s going to agree with you and vice versa. Some people take criticism harder than others. I’m learning that it’s best to not argue and and stress to both sides but to, perhaps, just let it go. Sometimes it’s best to “pick your battles” and just go with the flow. If neither side can come to a resolution, perhaps it’s best just to wish each other well and move on.

I’ve found that we can’t live for others. We have to live for ourselves. We have to make ourselves happy and love ourselves first before we can do the same for others. This is not a selfish thought. I’ve found that, in learning a lot about myself, I’m able to better relate with others. I’m able to really get an idea of how different we all are. Some friendships are very much worth pursuing and be worked on; others just may not work out. And that’s okay.

To my special friend on SecondLife (she knows who she is), I just want to thank her for continuing to believe in me as I continue to learn about myself. She could have said “fuck it” and pushed me away. But she didn’t. And that’s true friendship. And I value that friendship so much that I’m thankful to have her in my life.

To all of my Twitter friends (you all know who you are too), I’d like to thank you as well. I, on occasion, post quick and brief “blasts” that y’all put up with. Many even offer constructive feedback which I very much appreciate. And, a number of you, still, even contact me via a direct message just to see if I’m okay. That means so much to me that I can’t express in words exactly how so.

Between you all, just to know that you all are “out there” is so reassuring and comforting. I hope I do the same for you too. I hope that any of you can simply reach out and get in touch with me. And I’ll be there for you too.
