Early morning thoughts…

I was walking Hussi just now and realized that I haven’t been very openly thankful lately.  I’ve been very happy and feeling very appreciative for what I have but I haven’t expressed it outloud.  So, while walking her and thanking God for this wonderful day and realizing just how good of a life I have, I’d like to thank my family, friends, colleagues, etc. for helping me get through each day.  I’m not “needy” by any means but just having good conversations, bantering on Twitter, support on Tribal Fit Club, hanging out with Hussi, etc. is all that I really need to stay happy, content and confident.

Hussi and I discovered Bandy Park last night which is an informal dog park near the school (and I love the park’s website!)  OMG!!  It was the coolest place with the friendliest people and dogs!  I felt a little like Alice in Wonderland who jumped through the hole!  :)  We were walking around the front of the park and rounded a corner when I saw a little dog fly out of nowhere.  Then I heard people laughing and talking.  Then I saw them.  What was so great is that we were invited in with open arms.  People were asking what kind of breed Hussi was and what I did, etc.  Just a wonderful little community there.  We’ll definitely be going back as it sure beats walking up and down Grove Ave. every night (although we’ll enjoy a nice quiet walk every so often!)

We’re gonna have the kids for the first time this weekend since Hussi moved in.  She’s met them all but it’ll be a first we’ll all spend “real” time together.  Very much looking forward to that.  We probably won’t do much but hang around the area while they all get used to each other.  Maybe take a day trip down to Pocahontas State Park again.  We had a blast doing that last time.  Pack ourselves some lunch, put Hussi in the cargo area and be on our way.

We’re going to go be attending my first meeting of DivorceCare at Atlee Community Church tonight and tomorrow morning then I’ll meet with the group every Tuesday night.  That will actually probably keep us pretty busy so we may just hit one of the local parks instead.

Better get ready for work.  Just wanted to thank y’all again.

Have a good one!
