Mohr or Less

School started back up today at St. Catherine’s. Actually went a lot smoother than I thought it would. I went up to Staunton yesterday (yep, on my day off) to help out with Stuart Hall’s registration. They thought they’d end up with 170 students, if they were lucky. However, with the closing of Guardian Angel (another local private school that went belly up) and the merger of Hunter McGuire (a private K-5 school in Verona), they ended up with 207 students. Pandemonium! :D  There were times when they had 60 people waiting to get in and run through registration.  We didn’t get out of there until 7:30pm, stopped at Applebee’s on the way back to Richmond and got home around 10am.  It was awesome seeing everyone again.  We really miss it there.

On another note, Taylor had her first day of school today at Mary Munford.  She’ll be working with four teachers and it actually seems like it may be even better than there the excellent program she was going through at Bessie Weller in Staunton.  They’ll even provide daily progress reports so we can see how she’s doing.  We’re planning on going to the Open House there this Friday.  I may even consider doing some work for the PTA, if I’m not overwhelmed too much. 

Needless to say, it’s been a pretty good day.  I think I’ll eventually request that we don’t wear jackets and ties in our department because I only have so many dress shirts I can wreck when working up a sweat pushing carts of computer equipment across campus or wrestling with old network switches in dusty closets.
